Report An Absence

Families must report an absence using the online system, Infinite Campus.

  • Log in to your Infinite Campus account (using the website or App),
  • Select "More" from the menu
  • Then select "Attendance Requests".
  • Follow the prompts to select the student, excuse, and day.

Absence requests will be processed by the attendance office throughout the day.

NOTE: Any student heading out of class or back to class after being out of the building needs a pass. Students must pick up the pass at the Attendance Office five minutes before they leave. The Attendance Office is located by the Deans. It is different from the Main Office.

Regular attendance helps reduce stress, fosters positive habits and creates more time for socializing with friends. While students may be able to make up work outside of school for both excused and unexcused absences, we can never recreate the classroom experience at home. Please prioritize attendance and whenever possible, schedule outside appointments before or after school hours.

Sick Day Guidelines

Students should be fever-free and have not had vomiting/diarrhea for 24 hours; they are physically well enough to attend school. For more information, please view the sick day guidelines.

Attendance Policies

To learn more about our policies about attendance, please refer to the Student Handbook and Board of Education Policy 7.70.

Families that have questions should contact their dean.

Extended Absences

For extended absences, it is important for students to remain current in their homework assignments and class materials.

Students who have had at least 4 days of continued absence for medically excused absences:

  • Students should use their Chromebook to look at their schedule
  • Click on the teacher’s name, that will allow them to email them directly
  • Email should state they are requesting homework
  • Teacher will email them back with their assignments or let them know homework can be picked up in the Attendance office.

Students who have been hospitalized:

  • Contact the Student Support Services office at 630-795-8470 to make a homework request.
  • The Secretary in the Counseling Office will email all teachers for the student.
  • Teachers are encouraged to contact students, parents and/or the educational liaison in the hospital program directly via e-mail with assignments and class materials.
  • For work that cannot be sent electronically, teachers will send work to the Attendance Office within 24 hours of the request.
  • Parent may pick up the homework in the Attendance Office.
  • Parents may come to school to pick up a student’s textbooks. Come to the Dean’s Office and a student supervisor will take you to your student’s locker.
