Attendance
Regular student attendance is critical to student achievement.
You may report a student absence by either going online to Home Access Center or by calling or leaving a message for the Attendance Office at 630-795-8450. Both options are available 24/7–you do not need to wait to call during school hours AND you can schedule absences ahead of time. The Attendance Office is located by the Deans, across from the Fine Arts wing, in the southeast corner of the building. It is different from the Main Office.
Online Option
Log in to your Home Access Center account and follow the instructions located in the tab “school links.”
Phone Option
Parent/Guardian must call the Attendance Office at 630-795-8450 and state:
- Student Name (please spell the last name slowly!)
- Student ID Number
- Date of Absence
- Reason for Absence
- If calling for a Late Arrival, state the time the student will arrive at school
- If calling for an Early Dismissal, state the time the student will leave school
- Your name and relationship to student
NOTE: Any student heading out of class or back to class after being out of the building needs a pass. Students must pick up the pass at the Attendance Office. Students can pick up the pass before school, during passing periods or before/after lunch–they don’t need to wait before it’s time to leave!
Extended Absences Process
For extended absences, it is important for students to remain current in their homework assignments and class materials. Below are specific locations for homework requests.
Students who have had at least 4 days of continued absence for medically excused absences:
- Students should use their Chromebook to look at their schedule
- Click on the teacher’s name, that will allow them to email them directly
- Email should state they need are requesting homework
- Teacher will email them back with their assignments or let them know homework can be picked up in the Attendance office.
Students who have been hospitalized:
- Contact the Student Support Services office at 630-795-8470 to make a homework request.
- Secretary in the Counseling Office will email all teachers for the student.
- Teachers are encouraged to contact students, parents and/or the educational liaison in the hospital program directly via e-mail with assignments and class materials.
- For work that cannot be sent electronically, teachers will send work to the Attendance Office within 24 hours of the request.
- Parent may pick up the homework in the Attendance Office.
- Parents may come to school to pick up a student’s textbooks. Come to the Dean’s Office and a student supervisor will take you to your student’s locker.
